Whether you're planning a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or just a casual meal with friends, Daryoush delivers a warm atmosphere and an unforgettable culinary experience.

As soon as you step inside, the ambiance of Daryoush welcomes you. The décor is a perfect blend of traditional Persian artistry with modern touches, making it both inviting and elegant. The setting provides an intimate atmosphere, which is perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal while immersing yourself in the restaurant's tranquil vibe.

One of the most notable aspects of dining at Daryoush is the extensive and well-thought-out menu. Their selection is carefully crafted to cater to a variety of tastes, whether you’re a fan of bold, savory flavors or prefer something lighter and refreshing. From classic Persian stews like Fesenjan (a rich pomegranate and walnut-based dish) to grilled meats and kebabs, there's something for everyone. Don’t miss the tender lamb and chicken kebabs, which are grilled to perfection, locking in all the juiciness and flavor you’d expect from a high-quality Persian grill.

For starters, you can indulge in a variety of appetizers like mirza ghasemi, a smoky eggplant dip, or kashk-e-bademjan, a warm eggplant dish topped with kashk (fermented whey). Both are great options for sharing, giving you a taste of traditional Persian comfort food. They also offer fresh salads and an array of flatbreads, making it easy to start your meal on a light yet satisfying note.

The entrée options at Daryoush truly shine. The menu features a range of dishes from classic Persian stews like ghormeh sabzi (a hearty herb stew with tender meat and kidney beans) to grilled meats, seafood, and vegetarian-friendly options. The Joojeh Kabob, a lemony and saffron-infused chicken skewer, is a favorite. It’s cooked to perfection, balancing smoky flavors with the natural tenderness of the chicken. Additionally, the restaurant’s Persian rice, cooked with a delicate layer of crispy crust known as tahdig, is a must-try. It adds a delightful crunch that complements the main dishes beautifully.

Dessert is another highlight at Daryoush. After savoring a delicious meal, you can treat yourself to traditional Persian sweets like baklava and saffron ice cream, both of which showcase the aromatic spices that are integral to Persian cuisine. The faloodeh, a Persian frozen dessert made with thin noodles and rosewater, is a refreshing and unique choice for anyone looking to experience something different.

The drink menu also deserves a mention. Alongside a variety of wines, Daryoush offers a selection of Persian teas and beverages, which are the perfect companions to your meal. Whether you choose a traditional Persian tea or a refreshing glass of yogurt drink, it adds to the overall authentic dining experience.

Service at Daryoush is top-notch, with attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to make recommendations based on your preferences. The team creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, ensuring your dining experience is both enjoyable and memorable. The portion sizes are generous, so you’re sure to leave satisfied.

  • Amazing food, great service, nice atmosphere, and great location! Tried Barg, Shish Kabob, and Koobideh. All were perfectly cooked, our top favorite was Koobideh, and then Shish Kabob! The Tahdig was also perfect addition. Side of Shirazi salad was also great.

  • This Persian restaurant has a nice variety of traditional kabobs and stews. I ordered the Sultani kabob (beef barg + koobideh) and it was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Service was quick, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only downside was the restroom: there’s only one for a lot of guests. It was clean but didn’t have paper towels. Hopefully they can improve this in the future. Parking is easy, either on the street or in the affordable lot across from the restaurant.

  • Great Persian Cuisine in Downtown Walnut Creek! We are so happy to have discovered this new Persian restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek. The food is truly amazing – delicious, fresh, and consistently impressive. The owner's dedication to ensuring every guest has a wonderful experience is evident. He is always present, attending to every table, and making sure everyone leaves happy. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of the ingredients is outstanding. The only drawback is that they don't take reservations, so be prepared for a first-come, first-served experience. Despite this, we've returned several times and can't wait to go back. If you're a foodie looking for authentic, mouth-watering Persian cuisine, look no further!

  • Updated: my friend looked at the Persian ice cream but we ordered the wrong one. Bumping up to 5 stars. I went back 2 days later for lunch. Chicken wasn’t as juicy but still juicy enough for me to go back. Had the lamb chops too, it could use a tiny sprinkle of salt. Lunch deal is good. 1 star taken off because of the Icy rice dessert. We HATED it. I wish I could have sent it back but the guy didn’t come back until the entire thing melted. We each had one bite and didn’t touch it. It was just sweet syrup.! Other than that, the lamb shank (we got the top one with the eggplant) and the chicken kebab was AMAZING! So juicy and tender! Will order again. (We got the combo plate). The salad had a couple bad/old leaves but otherwise it was fine. The free flat bread at the beginning was good but I think they should just give 2 pieces per person not an entire stack. We went right when they opened at 11:30am on a Saturday and there were plenty of seats available.

  • Amazing food! The shishlik kabab was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the chicken kabab was juicy and full of flavor. Friendly service and a great overall experience, definitely coming back.

  • Daryoush - A Casual Introduction to Persian Cuisine Daryoush, a newly opened Persian restaurant in Walnut Creek, brings a variety of Persian flavors to its menu. While the food is good and slightly above average, it doesn’t stand out when compared to other Persian restaurants I’ve experienced. For those new to Persian cuisine or seeking to explore its flavors, it’s definitely worth a try. The service, while dedicated, leans more toward a casual, street-style vibe rather than a fine dining experience. If you're expecting the polished, upscale ambiance typical of Walnut Creek’s finer establishments, this might not meet your expectations. That said, the crew works hard, but the setting and service style may feel a bit informal for those accustomed to fine dining. The Server at one point when we arrived at the restaurant asked us to go out and stand outside. This was seen unprofessional and lack civic manners. I plan to revisit to explore more menu options, as there is potential, but I wouldn’t consider this a go-to spot for frequent dining. Overall, it’s a decent place for a casual meal and an introduction to Persian cuisine, though it may not satisfy those looking for a more refined experience.

  • Extremely delicious food. The dill and fava bean rice was incredible. Chicken and beef kebabs plus an appetizer plate is plenty for 2-3 people. The meat was so soft and juicy. Interior & ambience is nice, if average.
